Pixel art was once limited to early platform games but has become it’s own art form. Really great sources of inspiration for all you pixel junkies out there. Eat up! Pixels are good for you.
Not sure if I posted about this before, but its definitely worth mentioning again. These guys make some amazing games. Not only are they fun to play, but the design and style is pixel heaven. There is so much detail and density in there. Whoever makes these games is brilliant.

We all know eBoy. He is like the Michelangelo of pixels. His blog is fantastic because he regularly updates it with some tiny tasty tidbits for your chewing pleasure. He posts small elements (i.e. a truck) and this gives you a chance to appreciate the intricacies of his work, one piece at a time.

I recently discovered Gary J Lucken. You could very well mistake his work for eBoy’s. He is just as amazing. He works on games as well

Here you get to create your own pixel avatar and trade items and interact online with other users. It’s subscription based model, but you can browse for free – and registration is really quick. The art is really great. Worth signing up to spend some time checking it out.

Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
This was definitely an amazing game to play on Gameboy Advance, but what gave it such character was the art. I’ve posted a few selections of artwork recreated/ripped by fans.
