Custom Munny: Tribute to Tilt: Part 2

December 8th, 2009

After several coats of primer, I think this guy is ready for airbrushing. I’ll probably get to that sometime this weekend. He is either gonna be Pearlized Magenta or Fluorescent Raspberry. I’m thinkin’ the former. Check out Part One. MORE

Logo Of the Week: Wild Type Gear

December 6th, 2009

Logo feature for this week comes from one of my favorite type designers, Jos Buivenga. It reminds me  a bit of the Underware font Bello Script, which I also love. Jos created the logo for his little T-shirt project, Wild Type Gear. Great job. This is definitely saved to my logo reference library. MORE

Custom Munny: Tribute To Tilt

December 6th, 2009

When I saw Tilt’s custom Munny from the recent Munnyworld toy exhibit in NYC, I fell in love with it. I decided to create a similar toy and test out my new airbrush. I’ve selected only the letters “H-O-N-E-Y.” I want to try to paint it tomorrow night. Hopefully I can stick to that schedule. Stay Tuned. MORE

Canon Lens and Extension Tube = Magic

December 6th, 2009

Today I got a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and EF 12 II Extension tube for my Canon Rebel XTi. I feel like I got a new camera. I only took a few test shots and I was blown away. Together they produce images with shallow Depths of Field, and a little bit of magnification. It’s like magic. I love it. Can’t wait to start taking more photos. MORE

Custom Munny: R50 Munny Part 2

December 4th, 2009

I made some progress with my first custom Munny figure. I should have washed it first in soapy water (to get that factory coating off). It would have made drawing on it a whole lot easier. It’s alright though, I’ve erased enough to remove 90% of the coating. Though, it is definitely tougher to draw on these guys than I thought. And drawing a symmetrical design is killing me. It always looks off and I’ve got to start over. I have so much eraser lint on my desk it’s obscene. Hey, at least it’s only pencil. Let̵... MORE

I love Bakerella

November 16th, 2009

Bakerella is scrumdidlyumptious. She creates confections that are crafted to perfection. I stumbled upon this website today and I simply can’t take my eyes off of it. I adore crafty baking, so this site is like heaven in two and a half clicks.  The photography is brilliant. It really carries the site… makes it oh-so-inviting. Bakerella even shows you behind the scenes, shares her recipes and more. I can’t even describe it properly. Go give her a visit and be prepared to be amazed. MORE

My Favorite Font: Aeronaut

November 16th, 2009

Monday’s Favorite Font is Aeronaut by FaceType. This font has that classic German gothic look, with a refreshing flare. Aeronaut breathes new life into the deep dark world of gothic fonts. And let me say, it’s hard to make these kinds of fonts feel new and different. Moderately priced at MyFonts.com. Definitely an amazing addition to any collection. MORE
